Process
Our development process, refined and proven
From start to finish, our goal is to help our clients succeed
We develop a very close working relationship with our clients. From coming up with an initial look and feel for the site, to providing ongoing support. Our development process typically takes 2-3 weeks and works as follows:
1. Consult
It all starts with a simple questionnaire. Then we hold in-depth meetings with you to discuss the requirements for your online presence. In this phase, we aim to define the broad requirements, and any detail which is requisite in order to commence work.
2. Wireframing & Design
We’ll work closely with you to pinpoint the right look and feel for your online presence. This initially entails the production of a visual set of mockups, of a homepage, a category page and a product page. After implementing your feedback, an overall visual direction is approved and work begins on the exploration of the various content pages required, (e.g. about us, stockists etc) and any other non-standard layouts which may be required (e.g. a special competition page, or something similar).
3. Build
Once you’re happy with the look, designs are coded (Cross browser XHTML & CSS). During this phase, we’ll take the agreed upon designs, and integrate them into your install of NextwaveCommerce. We’ll also develop any bespoke features or integrations required, although this phase typically begins in parallel with phase 2, particularly where back-end work is required (e.g. ERP integrations).
4. Test
Code resides on our testing servers while we conduct thorough use-case and user acceptance testing. We test both with automated tools, to ensure that functionality works, and with you, to ensure that it works as you expect. During this phase, we’ll typically iterate rapidly with your staff to tweak, tune, change and consolidate elements of the site.
5. Train
You can come to us or we can come to your office location and train you on-site in the use of your store front. Or via a screen share sessions on Skype. This is typically a relatively painless process, as we have spent a lot of time and effort in making the administration area of NextwaveCommerce as intuitive as possible.
6. Launch
Once testing is complete we then set the website live. The direct process of launch is somewhat variable, as it depends on specific client needs and the platform, if any, being migrated from.
7. Support
All our support staff are on hand to ensure continual smooth operation of your website, and we’re on hand to help you grow your eCommerce and multi-channel presence into the future!
