PHP Lead Developer (eCommerce)

Nextwave Commerce is a leading provider of ecommerce and online marketing solutions. Due to rapid growth we are looking for experienced eCommerce Lead Developer to join us.

This challenging role will require you to adapt quickly to our fast-paced work-environment. The primary responsibility of the PHP Lead Developer (eCommerce) is to translate client business requirements, eCommerce requirements, wire frames and functional specifications into cutting edge eCommerce applications. You will also develop standard and custom eCommerce functionality according to our Product Roadmap and be responsible for technical specifications and supervising implementation of complex eCommerce projects.

If you are a PHP/Open Source eCommerce Master, we want to meet you. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of state of the art eCommerce applications and shopping carts, open source solutions, PHP applications  and advanced third party functionality such as working with Facebook.You will develop new methods of improving the experience of our clients’ customers.

Your role
Provide hands on technical guidance and solutions to client requirements for our teams of developers.
Translate existing wireframes and functional specs into technical specs, suggest alternative solutions, analyze, evaluate and select new technologies to constantly improve our core product.
Translate business and functional requirements (business process models and use cases) into detailed technical design from system architecture down to code-level design.
Creation of detailed technical specifications, functional specifications and designs
Select and design new PHP based Technologies for our present and next generation ecommerce platform
Supervise, Guide and Communicate with development teams
Take ownership of all technology issues surrounding our development and installations
Resolve all technical issues for customer sites
Maintain and develop add-ons for Nextwave Commerce.

You have
Deep technical understanding of eCommerce solutions and web applications
Deep knowledge of web programming standards and capabilities: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Linux, Apache, mySQL, PHP, AJAX, and more.
5+ Years demonstratable experience in open source eCommerce development (primarily PHP)
5+ Years demonstratable experience specifically in OSCommerce/ZenCart/Reloaded/OSCmax
Experience with optimizing cloud hosting environment
Very strong written and verbal communication skills. You will need to communicate clearly with clients, developers and management alike.

Business Development Manager

We are looking for another Business Development Manager to maximise the huge opportunities in the ecommerce arena, both through new business and also proactive engagement with existing clients to expanding their multichannel business toolkit using Nextwave Commerce and a whole host of related services. Forming and maintaining relationships with our industry partners is an important element of the role. There will also be the opportunity of taking an active role in the development and promotion of new industry offerings.

This position calls for the level of pro-activeness and independence to research solutions and curate responses to RFPs; the confidence to present face to face at c-level and represent the company at events; to plan, manage and execute sales expansion plans with autonomy. With a reasonable technical understanding, you also will possess a genuine and proven sales ability with an acute commercial approach.

Someone who is used to and prefers working for SMEs (rather than large corporates with huge teams) will fit in well, as well as a willingness to get involved and be generally a nice person to be around :)

Your role

You have
True entrepreneurial spirit; ability to own the role and maximise all opportunities
An insatiable appetite for emerging technologies
3-5 years of related experience in an online agency or web development company
Solid understanding of the online marketing and ecommerce sectors
Proven experience in sales and closure of eCommerce solutions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to understand clients’ needs and translate them into solutions

Working to develop, promote and sell our eCommerce solution, Nextwave Commerce
Working with the eCommerce Prodcut Manager to develop sales tools and presentations that maximise sales opportunities
Participating and presenting at conferences, exhibits and industry forums to promote solutions and generate sales leads

Growing your skill set as the business grows around you
Demonstrating knowledge of digital market trends, competitor activities and strategies, pricing, client objections, value selling and industry news
Promoting the desired corporate image to the market place

QA Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Assurance engineer to join our team, an individual with the following credentials:

You have
Solid knowledge of PHP development and PHPUnit test creation and maintenance.
3+ years experience in PHP QA
Agile experience

You will be
Helping develop and improve QA around our eCommerce solution, Nextwave Commerce.
Working with our development team in order to implement QA procedures in the best possible fashion
Working fairly autonomously – we don’t micromanage – we trust our people
Growing your skill set as the business grows around you
Very probably creating a QA department around yourself, over time.
Working in a vibrant office environment where developing first class solutions in an enjoyable atmosphere are far more important than a suit and tie.
